They say you shouldn't bring a knife to a gunfight, but - just hear me out here - what if the knife was a 12 foot long superheated sword wielded by a 60 ton mech?

Lancer: Melee Plus expands on Lancer's weapon types by splitting melee weapons into three distinct new categories, and each with a new talent tree to match:

  • Blade weapons, encompassing swords, axes, and other forms of sharpened steel, can be used with the Champion talent, allowing a pilot to meet their enemies blow for blow with targeted strikes.
  • Impact weapons, brutal tools-turned-weapons like hammers and fists that batter foes, can be empowered by the Shock Unit talent to leverage a pilot's kinetic ferocity to bully foes around the battlefield.
  • Lances, weapons of war, spears and pikes, that jab and puncture with great precision, are exemplified through the Pikeman talent, taken by firm-footed pilots who command the field with their threatening reach.

This supplement will be referenced and expanded upon in future releases!

Awesome stuff! I seem to be having trouble with Comp/Con not reflecting the new weapon types after installing the LCP? Is that normal, or should I see “Main Blade” instead of “Main Melee” for the Charged Blade (for example)

if it’s just a limitation of Comp/Con then I totally understand, I’m just checking that I didn’t mess something up LOL

This is unfortunately a limitation with compcon, both because theres no way to edit content from the core rulebook or a way to add new weapon types. That said, if that ever changes (or if I can figure out some kind of work around), i'll be sure to update the LCP asap!
